The call is initiated by dialing on the phone the keys corresponding to the number 0 and the letters , salvamont , respectively, the number 0725826668, a phone number valid for the entire territory of the country and chargeable at the normal rate.

Salvamont National Dispatch takes the call, identifies the area where the accident occurred or about which information is requested and then establishes the direct connection between the applicant and the rescue team that can provide information or that acts in that area. The service is non-stop and is offered by Vodafone, partner of the National Association of Mountain Rescuers from Romania.

The international mountain signaling code in case of danger

Signals issued in case of danger can be light, visual or acoustic.

6 signals are launched, every 10 seconds, for a minute, with a break of one to two minutes between them. 10 signals per minute are used for the answer, followed by a one-minute break.

Confirmation that the alarm signal has been received is done by issuing 3 signals per minute – acoustic, visual or light – each released 20 seconds apart.

The person asking for help must continue to give signals until those who come to help him reach him.
The one who received the call for help signal is obliged, after answering the one who launched it, to send an alarm to the "Salvamont" formations or to alert the nearest cabin, meteorological station or any other unit that could send the alarm further.
