From the cycle "Cultural events with culinary feasts", as I called it, at the "Panoramic" Complex in the Slănic-Moldova resort, the event "Slănic-Moldova between story and taste: At the table with Ion Luca Caragiale" took place on Sunday, July 12 of this year, in its second edition, after the first took place on April 19, with the theme "Slănic-Moldova, between story and taste. At the table with Ion Creangă".
The event was organized by the "Panoramic" Complex Slănic-Moldova, in partnership with the Bacău County Employers' Association of SME Businesswomen, the Center for Pedagogical and Cultural Experiences in Onești, and brought together businesswomen, members of the Bacău employers' association, as well as people of culture, including poets and visual artists.
After the welcome speech addressed to the guests, Ms. Alina Șova, tourism entrepreneur and manager of cultural and artistic activities in Slănic-Moldova, but also organizer and host of the event, presented the story of the locations she manages with her husband, Bogdan Șova, as well as sequences from the tumultuous history of the Royal Casino in the resort, the most recent and valuable acquisition of the young family of entrepreneurs from Slănic.
This was followed by the presentation of the volume "Ion Luca Caragiale. Life and Work", signed by Prof. Dr. Gabriela Gîrmacea., from the "Grigore Moisil" National College in Oneşti and president of the Center for Pedagogical and Cultural Experiences in the same city, which forms an appreciated cycle of biographies of the author, along with those dedicated to Mihai Eminescu, Ion Creangă, Ciprian Porumbescu, Petre Ispirescu, Vasile Alecsandri, George Topârceanu and Regina Maria.
The cordial and friendly atmosphere was complemented by a rich and diverse program: poetry recitals, a painting exhibition, a collection of glass and porcelain mosaic paintings, but also a fair with exhibits for sale made/distributed by Bacău entrepreneurs.
The second part of the meeting also meant the most delicious, fun and appreciated moment, where diners were delighted with an authentic menu, based on IL Caragiale's gastronomic preferences.: The Brewery's Cabbage Jam, The Brewer's Potatoes (browned potatoes with green parsley and parmesan), Nae Cațavencu's Frigăruia (pork neck skewer wrapped in bacon, prepared yakitori style), Mitică's Mititeii (browned mititei, sausage in dough and homemade mustard), Coana Joițica's Dessert (pancake cake with sweet cheese cream and bitter cherry jam).
At the end, participants were invited to an interactive contest about Caragiale's life and work, followed by a raffle with attractive prizes, music for dancing, relaxation and good cheer.
