A new cultural project comes to life in the Slănic-Moldova resort, in the form of a series that will be broadcast in several episodes and dedicated to the Royal Casino of Slănic-Moldova. More stories and tales will be brought together on the website "Casinoul Slănic-Moldova"", some of them unknown until now, which will largely reproduce, some even in detail, the activities carried out here over time, and the chosen stories will present to you the originality and spirit that dominated the cultural-artistic life of our beloved resort, Slănic-Moldova.
The project was initiated and is being carried out by the family of entrepreneurs from Slănic, Bogdan and Alina Șova, with the support of the journalist, documentary filmmaker and writer from Slănic, Romulus-Dan Busnea. Video credit: George Laslău, Slănic-Moldova.
"Therefore, we invite you to the former atmosphere of the Casino, with the first episode of the documentary series "File de istorie", in which we discover the visit of King Carol I to Slănic-Moldova, on July 29, 1891 - a moment that has been 135 years since and which would forever change the destiny of the resort and pave the way for the construction of the first Casino in Romania. You will find out who welcomed the king, who had the initiative to build the Royal Casino, what role Eugen Ghica-Budești had and why Carol I offered the example of the famous casino in Baden-Baden. This first episode brings to light documents, photographs and lesser-known historical information about Slănic-Moldova and one of the most important heritage buildings in Romania.
