A traditional scientific event takes place in Bacău

At the Museum of Natural Sciences in Bacău, the XXIII edition of the Symposium "Biology and Sustainable Development" takes place between November 20 and 21 this year, organized by the "Ion Borcea" Natural Sciences Museum Complex in Bacău, an event that has already become a tradition in the scientific and cultural life of Bacău.
The general themes within which the presentations will be held are::
• Diversity of aquatic organisms
• Diversity of terrestrial organisms
• Genetics and biotechnology
• Environmental protection
• Geology and paleontology
• Museology, museography, museum projects and education
• Astronomy
Along with the specialists of the Bacău museum institution, researchers, museographers, doctors and doctoral students, as well as university professors from prestigious institutions in the country and in the Republic of Moldova (Chisinau) will be present at the Bacău Museum of Natural Sciences.
Leading specialists in Romanian biology will honor the invitation: Prof. Dr. Gogu Ghiorghiţă, member of the Academy of Scientists, and Prof. Emeritus Dr. Ionel Andriescu, from
"Al. I. Cuza" University of Iași.

Thursday, November 20, 2025
09:00 – 10:00: Welcoming guests
10:00: Official opening of the Scientific Symposium "Biology and Sustainable Development", 23rd edition
10:30 – 12:00: Presentation of papers in plenary
12:00 – 13:00: Presentation of the temporary exhibition: “Pieces of Heaven – the theme of nature in modern and contemporary Romanian painting”. Presented by: Manager Dr. Gabriela Gurău
13:00 – 14:00: Break
14:00 – 17:00: Presentation of papers by sections
17:00 – 18:00: Poster presentation
Friday, November 21, 2025
10:00: Opening of the temporary exhibition "The Cover of the Astronomy Book. The Gateway to the Universe", at the "Victor Anestin" Astronomical Observatory in Bacău. Presented by: museographer Oana Dinescu.
11:00 – 14:00: Visiting the permanent exhibitions at the Bacău Vivarium.
14:00 PM – 18:00 PM: Conclusions and end of the event.
