Next to the well we leave the road and go up the grassy slope, quite steep, following the summit. Once the slope calms down we will discover a wide path, an old pastoral road, still used as such. The path is also a forestry boundary between forest plots, being marked with vertical red bands. After a short horizontal section that succeeds the first slope, we gather our strength for a first steep but short climb, extended with a gentle slope that takes us to the top of a peak also called Piscul Bartei. From this point we go down to the IV 100 terminal, located at the intersection where we will leave the forest road, to the left. After a series of ups and downs, we reach the last saddle towards the Bartea valley, a wide clearing where there are several summer houses. Route description:

The red cross trail to the Bilibok peak - Tărhauşi is a spectacular route that leads us from the modern tourist everyday life to the archaic sheepfolds of yesteryear, still functional, passing through landscapes with a fairytale panorama.

The route starts from the parking lot of the Kontumaci church (the oldest church in the Ghimeş valley) on asphalt, but very quickly we reach a forest road. After about 1,5 km we already pass the first sheepfold. After another two kilometers through flowering hayfields, we pass old huts and barns, reaching almost the top of Bilibok, where a short deviation marked with a red dot leads us to the cross of the heroes of the two World Wars.

From the heroes' monument we can see the villages of Palanca and Ghimeş-Făget; we also have a view of: Cărunta peak, Popoiu peak, Ascuţit peak, Născălat peak and Ciudomer peak. From this point we must return on the red dot trail to the red cross trail and continue north, through hayfields and abandoned huts until we reach a sheepfold, where in summer we can be greeted by dogs.

Here you can get water from the spring that is maintained by shepherds.

After another kilometer we reach the highest point of the trail from where we have a superb panorama of the route and towards the Ciudomer peak. From here the trail only descends 4 kilometers towards the Tărhăuş valley, leading down the valley to the junction of the Tărhăuşi valley with the Grinduşului stream.

Route description:

The tourist route marked with a blue triangle starts from the village of Făget, at the entrance to the Bolovăniş valley, crossing the village of Bolovăniş along its entire length.

After leaving the village of Bolovăniş, the route continues on the serpentines that lead to the Aranyos pass.

On the right of the trail, 100 m from the trail, we find Aranyos Guesthouse (the only guesthouse on the trail).

From the pass, the route descends to the village of Răchitiş and crosses the isolated village between the mountains. At the end of the village, the route turns to the right and after three to four hundred meters begins the climb to the ridge that separates Bacău and Neamţ counties. Once on the ridge, the route passes through fir forests with a forest road and in places with glades and archaic sheepfolds with superb panoramas towards the Grinduşu peak.

After 3 km the trail reaches Mihai Peak from where we have a very beautiful panorama towards Ascutit Peak and the village of Bolovaniş. From Mihai Peak the trail continues east through the meadows with abandoned sheepfolds until it reaches Budaka Peak.

Near Budaka peak, the trail encounters a very good water source.

After the spring, the trail continues through a raspberry grove and sparse fir forest until it reaches the Hanului Pass.

From Hanului Pass, you can continue to the village of Tărhăuşi on the blue cross route or climb to Grinduşul Peak on the yellow triangle route.

The route is long and requires good physical preparation if you want to complete it in a single day.

Route description:

The tourist route marked with a blue triangle starts from the Tărhăuşi Valley at the entrance of the Grinduş Valley, climbing the ridge on the left.

The trail starts on a forest road and crosses hayfields and pastures. After the first few kilometers we come across an old sheepfold (locally called a hut), but very well maintained.

After leaving the hayfield belonging to the sheepfold, the trail enters the forest and winds through the young forest, which becomes more and more mature with increasing altitude. The trail reaches the ridge near a former abandoned telecommunications relay. The relay is very high and it is not recommended to climb it, as it is quite old and unsafe, being a monument of the communist era. The relay defies the laws of physics and stands tall even without the cable ties that have disappeared for many years.

From the relay, the route turns north on the ridge and winds parallel to the trenches of World War II until it reaches the peak of Grinduşu.

The peak is forested and offers no panorama, except the reward of conquering the highest peak in Bacău.

From the Grinduşu peak we have the option of descending the yellow triangle route to the Hanu pass or the red triangle towards the Camenca valley.

The tourist route marked with a yellow triangle starts from the Hanul pass (Tărhăuşi) on the border of Bacău and Neamţ counties.

After a slight incursion into the forest, the trail climbs steeply on a very rocky forest road for approximately 200 meters, then turns right and enters the forest following a ridge with a young fir forest. From the entrance to the forest we have the opportunity to admire Mihai's peak and a beautiful panorama towards the Născălat and Hăşmaş mountains.

After entering the forest, the trail passes through clearings full of blueberries and blackberries in the summer, offering delicious forest fruits to the tourist.

After navigating through the clearings full of blackberries and tall vegetation, the trail turns right, suddenly entering the fir forest with a carpet of fairy-tale moss.

After approximately 2 km we reach a forest clearing that offers us a superb panorama of the Născălat mountains and the Ascuţit peak.

After a few hundred meters from the clearing, we encounter trenches from World War II that accompany us to the peak of Grinduş and from there another 2 km on the forested ridge to the peak of Grinduşu, the highest peak in Bacău County.

The trail crosses forests that are very isolated from civilization and have no water sources, but it offers a very interesting connection with nature. We can encounter mountain grouse and hens on the ridge.

The peak is forested and does not offer a panoramic view, but we receive rewards for conquering the highest peak in Bacău.

From Grinduşu Peak we have the option of descending on the blue triangle route to the Tărhăuşi valley or on the red triangle to the Camenca valley.
