The museum was built on the site of an old warehouse, near the church "Saints Peter and Paul" in Boiștea. It was made between 1924-1958, during the period in which the church was built. In place of the storehouse, a building was erected and an ethnographic museum was set up on its floor, where various objects used in the past on a local level, which are now on the verge of extinction, were exhibited, such as: folk costumes for men and women, barks and laicera , various objects needed for household use (loom racks, warp, spinning machine and fork, hemp clod, cheptenei, sucale, suveica), icons and old books.
