In his capacity as conservator of cultural assets and manager of the management of "Archaeological and historical-documentary assets" within the "Iulian Antonescu" Museum Complex in Bacău, as well as an expert in assets with memorialistic value, Mihaela Băbușanu's professional activity is closely linked to the protection, research and valorization of cultural heritage. In parallel, her experience as a journalist/publicist has offered her a complementary perspective, oriented towards communication, accessibility and openness to the public.
Starting from these two directions, heritage and communication, Mihaela Băbușanu initiated a project, since February 2025, dedicated to promoting the heritage of the Bacău museum institution, in the public space, through the culture and attitude magazine "Plumb" (which appears both in print and online editions), with the support of its director, the poet, publicist and editor Ioan Prăjișteanu, a publication in which she works (pro bono), as editorial secretary.
The main objective of this partnership is increasing the visibility of cultural heritage, especially archaeological and historical-documentary heritage, through the use of publishing and editorial means accessible to the general public.
"The importance of the project lies in its contribution to the cultural education of the public, to raising awareness of the value of heritage and to strengthening the relationship between cultural institutions and the community. In a context where heritage often risks remaining in an area perceived as elitist or inaccessible, this type of initiative facilitates the public's approach to authentic cultural values. Through this approach, we aim not only to inform, but also to form a responsible attitude towards heritage, stimulating interest, respect and community involvement in its protection. Therefore, the project represents a natural combination between professional expertise in the field of heritage and public communication tools, aiming to bring heritage closer to people", said Mihaela Babusanu.
Within this project, promotion is achieved by publishing thematic articles presenting the institution's activities and the heritage held, including on the cover of the magazine some representative objects from the institution's heritage, as a visual element of impact, as well as by creating a bridge between the professional environment (specialists) and the general public..
The initiative undertaken by cultural heritage expert Mihaela Băbușanu aims both to promote the objects from the museum's heritage and to reflect the activities and events carried out within the institution, as well as memorialistic concerns.
