3.1. Orthodox Cathedral "Ascension of the Lord", Unirii Boulevard, the city of Bacau. The construction of the Orthodox Cathedral "Ascension of the Lord" began in 1991. This is one of the largest places of worship of the Orthodox religion in Europe, it is in fourth place, after the former Orthodox Cathedral "Saint Sophia" in Istanbul, the new cathedral from Moscow and the one from Parnes (Greece). The cathedral, which rises in the center of Bacău, has concrete walls that reach a thickness of one meter in certain sections. The 18 bells with which the cathedral is equipped were manufactured in Innsbruck. Of these, 13 are designed with a special shape and are synchronized by computers, the other 5 are classic bells.
3.2. The Roman Catholic Church "Holy Apostles Peter and Pathe", Iulian Antonescu Alley, Bacău city, is a modern place of worship with an imposing architecture, built in 2005 in the center of Bacău, being considered the largest Roman Catholic church in Moldova. With a total height of 77 meters, it currently ranks 4th among churches in Romania. The interior has the shape of an amphitheater with a ground floor and two floors, with a huge dome that gives the church a special appearance, having no central support pillars. The three bells of the cathedral were made with electronic installations and were cast in Padua (Italy).
3.3. "Precista" Church, Str. May 9, no. 48, (RO) Bacău, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, part of the Bacău Royal Court Ensemble, was built during the time of Stephen the Great, by his son, Alexandru, and was consecrated on January 1, 1491. Built of stone and brick, in the style specific to Stephen's era cel Mare, the church is very well-proportioned, flat-plan with a spire, having a length of 25,68 m. The Precise Church has withstood time, through some transformations and repairs undertaken in the 1636th century during the reign of ruler Vasile Lupu. From this period comes a tombstone from XNUMX, belonging to Miss Cristina, the wife of the noble Mihai Fotena Postelnic, one of the founders of the church.
3.4. Poglet Monastery it is located in the northern part of the Corbasca commune, at a distance of 5 kilometers from it, in a large meadow, surrounded on all sides by oak forests. The monastery was built in 1734, being closed since 1866, due to the secularization of the monastic assets. On September 1, 1996, after a period of 130 years since the dissolution of the monastery, the first Holy Liturgy was celebrated. The wooden church "Buna Vestire" is declared a historical monument due to its interesting architecture as well as its age. The monastery houses the oldest icon in Bacău county, representing the "Tămăduiri Spring". The holy icon is painted on wood and bears the imprint of centuries.
3.5. Orthodox Monastery "The Dormition of the Mother of God", Răchitoasa. The history of this monastery stretches over a period of four centuries. At the end of the 1697th century, a small oak church was built in Răchitoasa, which was located near today's Răchitoasa Monastery. Then, in 31, Theofana, the daughter of voivode Mihail Racoviță, together with her husband, built the current monastery. Unfortunately, the Răchitoasa monastery church was destroyed by the earthquake of May 1739, 2015. It was renovated for the last time, at the end of the XNUMXth century, and was recently restored in XNUMX, entirely with European funds. This has become one of the most representative monastic places of worship in the central and south-eastern area of Moldova.
3.6. Orthodox monastery "Buna Vestire", Tisa Silvestri, Odobești it is located in an area of hills and valleys, at the edge of a forest. The monastery is relatively new, built and reactivated after the 90s. The Tisa monastery was documented for the first time in 1729 and from 1895 there is mention that there had been a hermitage of monks at Tisa. After November 20, 1996, its reconstruction began by the nuns who now live in the monastery. The small church of the monastery was consecrated in 2003 and the big one in 2010. The nuns are self-employed and have various occupations including agriculture, beekeeping, painting, clothing and tapestry making.
3.7. Orthodox monastery "Adormira Maiii Domnului", Diaconești, Agăș it was built on the border of Bacău county with Harghita county, between the Ciucului and Tarcăului mountains. In 1998, the foundations of a monastic settlement dedicated to the "Assumption of the Virgin Mary" were laid. The construction of the first body of cells was completed in 2000, including a kitchen, a dining room and a chapel. Two years later, work began on the construction of a large church. Due to the natural setting in which the settlement is located, the new construction was built on river stone, spruce and fir beams, in the Moldavian Stefanian style.
3.8. "Saints Peter and Paul" Orthodox Church, Dărmanesti. In 1924, the parishioners from the village of Boiştea together with the priest Constantin Moiceanu decided to build a new church in the middle of the parish, as the old one had proved to be too small. In the summer of 1924, the foundations of the new building were laid. The church was built, after 1938, from stone carved by skilled craftsmen under the leadership of the renowned master stonemason Ion Silvestru from Comăneşti. When the Second World War came, the works were interrupted, the covering of the church was done only in 1950. The church was painted by the painter Constantin Calinescu and was finished in 1971.

3.9. Orthodox monastery "Magura Ocna", Tîrgu Ocna it is located on the summit of Măguria, in the southwest of the city of Tîrgu Ocna. The church of the monastery bears the patron saint "The Ascension of the Lord". During its long existence, the hermitage had three successively built churches. The nunnery in Măgura Ocnei was built between 1750-1757. It was demolished in 1964, and a tourist complex was built here. Later the monastery was rebuilt and the current church was built between 1990-1993. The church of the monastery is a massive construction of brick and stone, clad with stone on the outside, in the shape of a cross. The spacious altar is lit by a stained glass window to the east. The pediment is made of beautifully carved oak wood. The painting of the church is executed in fresco technique, and the icons in oil.
3.10. Orthodox Church "Stparastas Varvara" from the Tîrgu Ocna salt pan it is an impressive church, both by its original architecture and by its positioning. The church is dedicated to the patron saint of miners and is located in a huge salt mine, the "Trotuş" salt mine, in the town of Tîrgu Ocna. Almost all the church furniture is made of mountain salt. Thus, the sconces on the walls, the chandelier, the pews, the bishop's seat and other objects of worship, form a unitary whole with the place where they are placed. Saint Varvara Church has remained even today one of the few churches in our country, built in salt mines, and the only one in Europe made almost entirely of salt.
3.11. Orthodox monastery "Stefan cel Mare si Sfânt", SlAnic-Moldova is located at an altitude of 900 meters, on the Bolovanu mountain, approximately 10 kilometers from the Slănic Moldova resort. The initiators and main supporters of the construction were two American citizens, of Romanian origin. The works started in 2000, and the church was consecrated in 2006. The pediment of the church is made of carved oak, and the bells are placed on a metal frame.
3.12. Roman Catholic Church "Most Holy Trinity", Oituz. Over time, on the site of the "Holy Trinity" church in Oituz, there were other places of worship that were destroyed. The first church, dedicated to the "Assumption of the Virgin Mary", was built of wood in 1734. In 1854, a stone church was built, which was preserved until the First World War when it was destroyed during the fighting that took place in the area. After the war, the current church was built of stone in 1924, with the patron saint "Holy Trinity". The church is impressive both in its exterior and interior architecture.
3.13. Orthodox Church "The Dormition of the Mother of God" from Borzeşti, You are honest. Borzești is the town where the great ruler Stefan the Great was born. The church was built by the ruler together with his son, Alexandru, between the years 1493-1494. Under the table of the Holy Altar in the church is the root of the oak from Borzești, from which, according to legend, Gheorghiță, one of the best childhood friends of voivode Stephen the Great, was hanged. The last renovation was completed in 2005, it was carried out by the painter Grigore Popescu and included works of interior mural painting. Inside the churchyard is the Museum of Religious Culture and Art, opened in 1994, with an important cultural heritage: icons, cult objects and old religious books from the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries.
3.14. The Orthodox monastery "Stparastas Trinity", Bogdana, ȘTefan the Great. The monastery in the town of Bogdana was founded by the great logophat Solomon Bârlădeanu in 1670, and was rebuilt after 1755 by Bishop Ioanichie. The church was also repaired in the period 1932-1933. Built of stone and brick, with defense walls and a coplotnița tower, with the church in a flat plan, it was modeled after the necropolis of Stephen the Great from Putna. After the Second World War, the monastery experienced an intense monastic life, becoming one of the largest monasteries in Bacău County. There is also an important collection of religious books and old icons from the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries.
3.15. Orthodox Church "Sfintentions Governors Mihail and Gavril", Cașin Monastery it was built in 1655 by voivode Gheorghe Ștefan, on the site of an old hermitage. The plan of the church, the architecture of the facades and its dimensions are identical to those of the Golia church in Iasi, but the forms are simplified. The church was surrounded by princely houses and a high and strong stone wall with fortress-like towers, being designed as a place of defense. After the earthquake of 1805, being seriously damaged, the monastery was repaired by the Greek abbot Ierotei, and between 1836-1839 by the abbot Isaaia from Constantinople.

7. Route description.
The Ecumenical Cultural Tourist Route in Bacău county includes the most beautiful places of worship in the Bacău lands, built by rulers (Biserica din Borzești, Onești) or by donations from simple people (Monastery in Slănic Moldova).
Some of them have had a turbulent history, being torn down due to wars or earthquakes, but they have been rebuilt, being stronger and more beautiful than ever.
In the city of Bacău there are two large churches (the Orthodox Cathedral and the "Saints Peter and Paul" Church), which were built more recently and whose architecture is special, being structured to be very spacious.
Ruler Ștefan the Great built several churches in Bacău, the most famous being the one in Onești, to which the legend of the oak in Borzești is linked, and the Precise Church in the city of Bacău, which was founded by his son Alexandru.
The places of worship are surrounded by special natural landscapes, Măgura Ocnei Monastery, being located right on a hill.
In Bacău county there are also unique churches, due to the material from which they are built. Thus, the Saint Varvara Church, which is located in the Târgu Ocna Salt Mine, is unique in Europe, as almost all of the church's furniture is made of mountain salt.
The churches in Bacău were modeled on religious buildings, well known in the country. Thus, the Church in Cașin Monastery resembles the Golia Church in Iași, and the Bogdana Monastery Church resembles the necropolis of Stephen the Great from Putna.
At Bogndana Monastery and Borzești Church there are collections of religious books and old icons. The Pogleț Monastery houses the oldest icon in Bacău County, representing the "Tămăduiri Spring". The holy icon is painted on wood and bears the imprint of centuries
The church in Dărmănești and the one in Onești have a special charm, which is still preserved today, being built of stone. The Deacon Monastery Church was built on river stone, spruce and fir beams, in the Moldavian Stefanian style.
In the Tisa Silvestri Monastery, the nuns have various occupations including agriculture, beekeeping, painting, confections and making tapestries.
Răchitoasa Monastery was restored in 2015, entirely with European funds. This has become one of the most representative monastic places of worship in the central and south-eastern area of Moldova.
