The 2023th edition of the Bacău Hills Tour will take place in 20 on the weekend of May 21-XNUMX. After three editions that brought together the best road cyclists from Romania in the heart of Moldova, this year ACS Sports Academy Bacău brings to the county the stage of the Romanian Senior and Junior Road Cup, an extremely important ranking within the Romanian Cycling Federation.
The race is organized with the support of local authorities, and the organizers aim to gather at the start among the strongest cyclists, both professionals and amateurs.
Bogdan Duca, the founder of ACS Sports Academy Bacău and the organizer of the competition, wants to make our county a location as visited by cycling lovers in the country: "I want the Tour of the Hills to become a festival of pedal sports, a race to which amateur and professional athletes from the country and abroad will return with pleasure year after year. The fact that we have moved up a notch with the introduction of the race into the National Cup calendar can only give me hope that we are on the right track. I am waiting for you on the weekend of May 20-21 in Bacău to compete, win and enjoy all the surprises during and outside the race. Great for training!"
In the past years, the race has enjoyed the presence of many important cyclists such as Manuela Mureșan (multiple national road and mountain bike champion), Ioan Dobrin (current national champion in the individual time trial), Denis Piciu (winner of the long-distance stage in the last two editions from the Tour of the Hills) and Mihnea Harasim (multiple national champion in cross-country and time trial).
As every year, the competition will promote the idea of fair play and competitive spirit. Its purpose is to bring cycling lovers together in the same place and to focus on good will and fun on the bike.
The race will offer participants two tests:
– Saturday, May 20 – Cross-country stage with two route options: 75 km (short route) and 110 km (long tour);
– Sunday, May 21 – the spectacular Circuit stage in the center of Bacău.
